“A line to self ,

And prose for you .

A word for me and

A sonnet for you .

As you are a flower and

I’m a home to butterflies .”

This month , the first month of this year . I read some poems . Or say a collection of poem . A collection that starts with a tale of love and ends with again the tale of love . Story of two people . How it begins and how it ends and all this in prose . Each word filled with sentiments , emotions . Strong emotions that will lead you to keep reading further .

I’m a home to butterflies .

Blurb :

A captain sinks with his ship
then why cannot a lover?”
This collection of poetry is all about you and me, but I am afraid it will no longer be about ‘you and me’ once a reader picks it up. It will then be about them only.
It will be all about the one they loved like thunder, about the one they struggled hard to keep, who had left them in the middle of their ‘forever’, about their world shattering into pieces, about them gluing together every piece, and about them falling in love one more time.
And if you still think it is about you and me, you haven’t loved someone like thunder, yet.

I read “I’m a Home to Butterflies” by J Alchem , and I must warn you to not leave it in between . As there is this revelation in last . Revelation of possession or obsession you will know only in the end .

So the good points about this book are as follows :

1) poems are divided into different phases . So you will know what’s the basic idea and scenario .

2) it’s an easy read . Simple vocabulary .

3) Relatable .

4) Interesting end .

5) It is written beautifully .

I normally avoid poetry as there are only a handful that I like. I think often they require too much though and I’m not to world’s best deep thinker. This sounds great though and I have challenged myself this year to read some new genres and step out of my comfort zone.
